Mang, was it (edit : FUCKING) HOT...

Despite this fact, and even beyond buying $60 of bunk X, we still had a great time.

Kat (Faerie) and I (Darklight ;) were able to spend our entire weekend camping down in lower Illinois with a bunch of our favorite psytrance heads (acidmonkeys!).

We travelled the beastly 6 (turned into 9) hour drive with our good buddy Spiral (Spiral) who made the whole thing much more bearable with his constant willingness to engage in deep and thorough conversation. (He was equally motivated on the Long return home as well..) It also happened to be his Birthday! Both lengths of our journey were filled with bowls filled with herb filled with friendship filled with energy.

Theen there was Joe (311bliss) and Anne (Hey sweet Lady! You better get on Tribe like I said, or you gonna be in (capital) Trouble..). Our parallel partners in crime, mirror images of what we know is inside and beyond.. Like always, it was a pure pleasure spending time with them - invisible bonds know no words, yet speak in many tongues. We love you guys, thanks for everything... See ya real soon, you fun little bunny rabbits!

And it COULDN'T have been the same great experience if Leo (Glowstick-Spinning Extraordinaire) and IAN the Two-Trip Acid Hit Virgin Wonder (Not just 'Billie' anymore! heh). Man, these two guys lent more in general friendly ambience than they did in actual words, but to me that counts just as much as anything anyone else contributed. They are the nicest guys, and were a lot of fun to have in our GeoTribe.

All weekend long, we sparked multiple multi-bowls of green, keeping the whole site nice and smoked-up-fuzzy.

It must have been these smoke signals, because we also met a lot of great new friends too. Our candle-lit camp also seemed to serve as a shining beacon to all who wandered into the dark nights, seeking friendly faces.

We had many random stoppers-by asking if they could sit and hang with us, of course we were happy to have them.

There was Dagan(Like Ronald Reagan), a wonderful fellow who we shared many stories and bowls with, a true Stargazer and already considered a friend. His best friend Timmy (Two-Tone!) who was one fookin CRAZY-ASS freak! Shit, this guy had us all rolling,(no pun intended) in laughter. He was hopped up on 3 Tabs of X and was a nonstop glowball of positive energy. (I want to punch him right in the stomach! heh) Besides these two great chaps were Kline, Clint and Jonah,(to name just a few, sorry I can't remember all of the other names - we love all you guys and girls!) who also lended so much to our comfy little GeoTribe. A Bongo, Harmonica, Shaker, Ocarina and a whole lot of fun went into playing a cool GeoJam session, not to mention Anne's Woo-Woooo-Whirly-Sticks that go "WOOOOOOO WoooOWOOOOOOOOooo"!

The first night, Joe bought $140 worth of X, we bought $60 of them from him, and then we all found out that they were BUNK pills.. We waited for an hour and a half, but the closest we came to Rolling, was down that God-Forsaken HILL!

(((Peoples, if you were not at Geo, you have no clue what I am talking about - but this thing was horridly steep and long, at least that's what my (sp)un-conditioned human instrument told me)))...

It was alright though, because about an hour later we met up with our Tribe friend Mark Hadley (Yo Bro!) who we found at a perfectly synchronous time. We wanted to trip so badly, and had nothing on us - but then Mark walked up to meet us for the first time with TWO FREE HITS of Cid in his hand, asking if we wanted them because the last few people he asked had declined! WHA?

We licked them munkies down and hung out with Mark and Igor (SOT) for a while - (Man, SOT, you are one cool and crazy dude. Sorry we didn't get to hang more, but we'll put something together real soon.) Both of these guys are kick-ass PsyTrance DJs, who sonically trance-formed people into uncontrollable convulsions of orgasmic rhythm.

Later on that night, we hit a couple tabs of (GOOD) X, which we were actually planning on saving to enjoy at home. I am so glad that we took them on Friday, though.. It turned our ordinarily psychedelic trip into a much more warm and loving experience.

The original bunch of us,(Spiral, Joe, Anne, Leo, Ian, Kat and I) went 'Upstairs' to the camp to chill, relax and talk. We had such a wonderful, open, spiritual, deep and meaningful collage of words and energy, it was all really 'Connected' and I think we all felt it. It was a very special time, and although we know that /every/ moment is special in it's own way, we all realized that we were truly recognizing /That/ Special Moment - which made it all more important and soul-bonding. I hold sincere love in my heart for everyone at our camp; thank you for being the /special/ people that you are.

(What's my name? MIKE JONES! WHAT? MIKE JONES, MIKE JONES, MIKE JONES! Fuckin crazy.. I got it all recorded!)

Our second day was also a great Tryp... I spent a few hours in the car with the AC on, trying to get at least an hour of sleep, which had cruelly evaded me since arriving.. That didn't work, so I went back to camp and soon after popped a half-bag of Shroomies with Faerie. They were nice and even felt somewhat similar to a very mild X Roll, but I wasn't feeling it enough to want to go hiking down the 'Devil's Mountain' again, so we hung at Camp for a while until our buddies I told you about before stopped in for a bongo-jam, some herb, a few backrubs, an orgasmatron or two, and of course a great time of laughter and enjoyment.

After boosting our Trip with a vast amount of herb, we stumbled down that wretched behomoth of a hill and began to enjoy brilliant fire performances by Spunn(who never cease to amaze my fucking eyes) and thunderous sonic texturing of MAD-ASS DJs from TOUCH Samadhi - the natural rock formation of this cavern created SUCH an environment, that the entire site literally became an enormous resonating chamber, akin to a giant Sub-Woofer, but this divine bit of architecture also allowed for the entire spectrum of sound to flow freely, reverberating powerful psychedelic echoes throughout the event. Fucking incredible!

I was starting to feel a little tired and low, Kat had gone Upstairs for the camera. I looked into my bag to find a little blinkie-blink-blink light and instead, I find a small remainder of the SHROOMIES that I had somehow forgotten to take...(!?!)

*Pop-Pop* (Save half for Faerie!)

It kicked in rather quickly, as I had not eaten any food in the past few days. It was just the perfect amount I needed. It gave me a quick boost of energy and enough of a refresher-peak where I could really enjoy the amazing spectacles of colorific light and sound.

I began to worry slightly about Faerie, who had taken quite a while to come back. I was just about to begin walking Upstairs when I thought I spotted her silhouette. I skittered over and almost tripped on my constantly-falling Sarong(No, So-Right! It's NOT a dress OR a skirt, you dillie!) to find my love.. At the same exact time, I had found myself only 3 feet away from an apparent OverDose Crisis..

It was a young male, probably about 18 - he was sitting on the ground with about 10 people standing around him, trying to revive his mind from the stupor he seemed to be in. He opened his eyes a few times and I think I heard him mumble something, but I am not sure. Igor (SOT) and a few other good people helped pick him up and carry him to the van, which would eventually bring him to the emergency room. After the van left, I have no idea what happened. I hope everything turned out alright.

That sure put a damper on the great energy, but that didn't hold it back for long - Spunn began another performance soon after, and delighted us yet again with flaming twirls and whoofing bursts of talent and skill.

We all stayed to enjoy a few more hours of the lucid craziness, but then Joe, Anne, Kat and I headed back Upstairs one final time, to hang at our Camp,(Doubed : Little Venice). It was nice, quiet and relaxing. We were all a bit tired and coming down, so we just sat around the CandleFire and passed the boolie. Ian and Leo came up to join us shortly thereafter - and soon to follow, Spiral,(who would venture down into the Madness once more before the night was over! You crazy, farting Assid-Munkie ;).

Joe and Anne,(who I now will singularly call JoeAnne, in effort to save a half-second there and lose a whole-minute here) were really tired, so they had to call it a night and retired to their tent. Right after that, a bunch of our southern IL friends came up to hang and chill with for the rest of the night,(and partially into the trip-harsh light of mo(u)rning..)

Kat and I finally decided to get into tent, and try to get some sleep - it was about 6:30am, and Spiral wasn't back from dancing yet! heh

The last day, we awoke at about 9:30 to hear white-haired, beer-drinking old hippie BOB (who owned the entire venue) yelling at people : "Get your damn cars off my lawn!". Everyone was starting to pack up and get ready to leave - Bob must have just been cranky because he knew he would miss us all SO much.. ;)

He was funny as hell, though.

The End. =)

JeffZ :
Yeah, you should definitely come out for the weekend sometime; we'll plan a little mini-event or something.

And yes, I would love to do an 'ChIowa' (Or Iowago? heh) Transcendental Booklet of Two Cities..(?) I can help organize the Chicago end of it.

DonoD :
Thanks for the Info... I am really not surprised to hear that it was Alcohol poisoning, since there was an abundance of it there. THAT was the surprise to me.. Where the hell was all the X?

Anyway, we'll have to make sure we connect next time, man. Sorry we missed you!

one of the best GeoLogic blogs ever
Darklight first off I have to say thank you for your artistic contributions in the past to different Chilluminati events. I love your art! I love it! Please stay in touch with the chilluminati so we can continue to program in your pieces to future events...

anyway this is a really good account of Saturday night at GeoLogic. I didn't personally experience much of Saturday night because I was either at registration with Devorah or we were dealing with the medical emergency, meeting with our attorney, dealing with Bob, and really do you need anything more to fill out the night?

Basically the Iowan who drank too much, after throwing up all over my partner Devorah (who was there with SOT), was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Our lawyer met with the dude at the hospital and he was fine, tho dehydrated and very embarrassed at all the attention. Devorah and I drove into town at 3 am to meet with the attorney and all was good.

On a side note by Bob's account this was one of the best events he has ever had at the Cave in terms of dealing gracefully with problems, police, and neighbors. We had NO complaints from anyone! All the locals were full of praise for how the event went. They loved the vibe.

Darklight how could I have missed you and Kat? I am so sorry I didn't say HI. Or at least I don't remember. . .

For me putting on these festivals is a spiritual act, maybe call it "holistic integration". I feel like the music is the juice, the power, but all the psychedelic and spiritual energy the participants pump into that transform the event into a transient temple. Really very much like Burning Man. . . I got a very good vibe, we are creating something beautiful and the networks of energy are creeping like vines slowly into the midwest.

I wish organizing a festival was not so much work. We could only sleep in 90 minute stretches. Troy, Julee, Derb, SOT, Shai, Devorah, MikeL, Underfoot, Kaiser, and I were really stretched but we survived! With the massive help of an army of volunteers who contributed SO MUCH to the project. This was a volunteer heaven, there were so many people asking to be part of the project. And that's what it needs!!! Goddess bless especially the Iowans, Jeffz, John, Zach, Ashley, Airyck and Sarah for being amazing towers of power during the whole blazing event. Also kudos to our friends from Spunn and our friend Sukhmani who helped so much !!!

Just want to say that if you were excited by GeoLogic, get involved in Chilluminati! Especially we need more artists and visual engineers to help shape the space . . . the musical space is firm, now the 3 dimensional space needs more attention. There is so much COOL STUFF we want to build for next year, but we're only human. We need more help :)
